Wednesday Workout: Total Body Power Move

There is one thing that I make sure to include in every class – much to my students chagrin – it’s plank pose. Now I hear you – plank poses are tough! But they are also awesome πŸ˜‰ Forearm, side plank, regular – I love it!

These are a few reasons why I love them:
1) They work your whole body
2) They give you a lot of awareness about how your body works and where the alignments of your muscles and bones should be.
3) They are super efficient and effective, so they save you mucho time!

My favorite combination is to add a Downward dog after the plank, and incorporate breathwork. This kicks it up a notch and really encourages you to pull your thoughts together to concentrate. I have a video for you which you can see here.
