Post-Thanksgiving Round up

Happy December! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday and are either having a Happy Hanukkah or gearing up to celebrate a Merry Christmas.

Either way, I can’t believe the end of the year is already here!

Before we dive into today’s post, I thought I’d share with you a few tidbits for the end of the year.

Today is the absolute last day for the Early Bird Rates on the 28 Days to a Healthier You Program. If you aren’t sure what this is all about check the info page (where you can also sign up) here and the video here. Payments can be made on the info page, securely, through PayPal. And remember rate will go up to regular pricing  tomorrow.

I will also be scheduling some information sessions for people who are curious about the program or who have already signed up. You can get started with this by signing up for the 28 Days newsletter here. Stay tuned for more information regarding the other sessions coming up soon.

I promise, no scams here. If you need any information, just shoot me an email at houseofhealthy@yahoo.com

And lastly, a BIG thanks you to everyone who supported me through Better Recipes November contest. Head over to their site to check out all of the November Appetizer Recipes and check out this month’s contest (which I just might enter again).

Now onto the post.

We had a fantastic Thanksgiving. My parents came to visit, they brought friends, we had friends over, and we enjoyed a delicious, organic, local, gluten-free, vegan feast! Everything made from scratch. Yum!

We also participated in a Turkey Run/Walk 5k (my first ever 5k and my Mom’s first race!). I ran in 27 minutes, At on point I almost gave up to walk for a bit, but as soon ass I jumped over to the sidewalk, I saw my Dad and Husband cheering me on and I kept going to the finish line. On  Friday, my Mom’s Birthday, we went to Turkey Burn Yoga. I taught, they practiced. We followed it up with a trip to the Holiday Lights Show and then sadly, everyone had to leave.

But we have plenty of leftovers to keep us company 🙂

Here is a run down of what we had and how you can plan your next holiday feast102_0115 102_0120

Nut Loaf

Cornbread Stuffing

Cranberry Sauce

Acorn Squash

Brussels Sprouts

Green Beans (recipe coming soon!)

Mashed Potatoes

Dinner Rolls

Mixed Green Salad w/ raw almonds, dried cranberries and balsamic vinegar and oil

Butternut Squash Soup

Apple Pie (with Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free Flour)

Pumpkin Pie via Oh She Glows

Chocolate Pie (using an adaptation of my favorite frosting recipe, official recipe coming soon!)

It was quite a bit of food. My eyes were much bigger than my stomach. I filled up my plate with a little of everything and couldn’t een finish. But luckily, I’ve been steadily chipping away at the leftovers 🙂

For a compilation of (most) of these recipes, plus a few more, check out the downloadable Healthy Holiday Eats and Treats Guide, and stay tuned for some additional holiday recipes coming your way soon.

For now,

Peace and Love,

Jessi
