You know when you find something that you love – a new tv show, favorite new food, significant other, movie quotes – and you just can’t get enough of it? Everyday you dream about it again and think about your favorite new love interest. You know what I’m talking about?
Well, that’s how I often feel about juices and smoothies. Once I find a new ingredient or combo I like, I’ll stick to it for a week or two. And then I find another one and repeat the cycle. It’s not an “on to the next” type of thing, it’s more of a staying in tune with my body and the seasons, trying new things, and staying ever-so-curious.
So I thought I would take my juice “obsession” and share it with you.
Today I officially introduce, Juice of the Week.
What is Juice of the Week?
Juice of the Week (JOW) will be a featured juice or smoothie each and every week. It will be some of the recipes and ingredients I’ve been digging lately, as well as any inspirations you throw my way. If it’s delicious, healthy, and a juice or smoothie it will be featured. These are all new recipes, never before featured on the blog or in my upcoming Detox 101 book. It’s fresh, brand-spanking new content for you.
For two very good reasons. Juicing can be quite difficult and expensive if you switch your ingredients on a daily basis. With the JOW, you’ll know your ingredients and be able to purchase the amount you’ll need for a week’s worth of juicing/blending without worrying about ingredients going bad, not being able to buy bulk, or what recipes you can combine. These recipes will also be featured in a soon-to-be released E-Book all about juicing and smoothies, along with some other delicious concoctions.
Where do I find it?
You can find the JOW in each Friday’s blog post. If you are on the email list, you’ll also find it in your weekly newsletter. You’ll also be able to search (coming soon) in a menu tab at the top of the page.
Some recipes may be featured on other sites, such as last week’s JOW Addicted to Summer Smoothie (on MBG). In this case it will be in additon to the weekly juice or smoothie on this site.
When will it be released?
You’ll get a new recipe each Friday, as well as in the following week’s newsletter.
Now are you ready for this week’s goodness? The first official recipe of Juice of the Week is here.
The Blueberry Summer Dream Smoothie:
Makes 2-3 large smoothies
1 cup blueberries
2 frozen bananas
1 cup frozen watermelon
1 cup coconut water
Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend until smooth. Simple. Delicious. Healthy.
