It’s stinky, it’s smelly, it’s a breeding ground for bacteria. It’s…your yoga mat! You know, that thing you carry with you all the time, through thick and thin, through good times and bad. Yup. It’s probably super dirty. Think about it. You stand on it, you sweat on it, you roll it up and stick it in your bag. Luckily, I’ve got an eco-friendly cleaner for you. It’s super simple to make and gentle enough for even the most sensitive of yoga mats.
The key ingredient is Tea Tree Oil. Tea tree oil is antiviral, antifungal, antibiotic, and antiseptic. Basically, it’s your yoga mats best friend. I also add lavender for a nice, soothing effect. The tea tree will invigorate you, while the lavender calms your nerves. When made into a simple spray, it will clean and disinfect your yoga mat, the natural way. No stinky chemicals needed.
The recipe is simple:
1) Take a spray bottle and fill it with water
2) Add a few drops of tea tree oil (5-10 drops)
3) Add 5 drops of lavender.
4) Shake, spray, and wipe clean
What is your favorite way to clean your yoga mat? What other uses do you have for essential oils? Leave a message below and let’s discuss.
