I hinted about it earlier this week on Facebook, so I thought I would share the full recipe with you. This one is my new favorite green smoothie recipe. I added one ingredient and it took over my old standby. And lately, I’ve been craving the fullness and energy of a smoothie over a juice. Its the heat and the energetic use of the summer I guess.
The key to this one is Kale. Yup. I add it right in and you would never know! And my aunt was kind enough to give me her kale smoothie secret, which I’ll share with you – pulse/blend/grind the kale separately BEFORE you stick it in with everything else. Unless you have a Vitamix or Blendtec, this is really the only way to avoid a chewy, pulpy kale smoothie. Yuck.
Gorgeously Green Smoothie:
1 cup spinach
1 cup kale
1-2 frozen bananas
1/2-1 cup vanilla coconut milk (unsweetened)
Add kale to the blender first and chop it up. Then add all other ingredients and blend until smooth. Pour into a cup and enjoy!
As simple as that π
