Looking for some last minute Valentine’s Day inspiration? Here are a few healthy treats you can make for your sweetie. Who says the candy-filled holiday can’t be healthy as well?
My Top 5 Valentine’s Day Treats:
1)3 Ingredient Chocolate Fudge: What says “I heart you” better than chocolate? Make a batch a “woo” you sweetie. Remember you can add any other healthy ingredients that make you smile – think almond butter, maple syrup, nuts, etc.
2)Vegan chocolate covered Strawberries: Best combination in the world! Make 3 ingredients fudge, but instead of setting in the fridge, dip strawberries into the fudge. Then place in the fridge and let sit. So delicious.
3)Beet Juice (heart healthy and red delicious!): What? Beets? For Valentine’s day!? Beets are the perfect hot pink color for the day PLUS they are great for your heart. Studies show that beets contain Nitric Oxide, which helps to lower blood pressure and keep your heart pumping healthfully! Plus, if you are forgoing wine, it makes a fantastic red drink. Put it in a wine glass and get fancy!
4 and 5) Best Ever Chocolate Cake and Protein Power Frosting: Okay, so this is a double whammy for sure. So, so very good. And pretty good for you – as far as desserts go anyway 😉 The cake is full of flavor and the frosting is full or protein – from tofu. But I promise, it doesn’t taste like bean curd – just pure chocolate deliciousness.
