What to Do with Your Extra Smoothie

Have you ever made WAY too much smoothie or juice? And then put it in the fridge for water and forgot about it? And right before you go to bed you remember – the extra smoothie!

How do I know? I did this last week!

My husband was out of town and I made WAY too much, and completely forgot about it until I was heading to bed. And trust me, you don’t want to wait until the morning to drink it. If you try to wait for the next day to drink it, you might notice a few things – it doesn’t taste as fresh and the color has started to fade.

Why? Because it’s not fresh anymore.

The fresh nutrients that make your smoothie so flavorful and vibrant are starting to die. Which means that the smoothie will no longer be very good or good for you.

So what to do?

Chug it right before you go to bed?

Toss it in the garbage?

You could. 

Or you can use that leftover as a starter for your next smoothie creation. And it is super easy – you can do this in under 5 minutes, so even if you were on your way to bed, like I was, you can still get to bed on time and save your smoothie leftovers.

All you need is a muffin pan and a freezer.

Smoothie Starters

Leftover Smoothie Saver:

1) Grab your extra smoothie or make a large batch to freeze
2) Pour into muffin tins
3) Pop into the freezer and get on with your day/night.

Simple. As. That.

The next time you are low on ingredients or wan to add a little extra to your smoothie, pop one or two out and add it to your blender with your ingredients.
